Elliott House in Bromley opened its doors as the UK’s first autism diagnosis centre, later known as the Lorna Wing Centre. It remains open today as the charity’s national diagnostic and assessment service.
Since its opening, not only have many autistic people received their diagnosis, but many professionals have also received training in using the specialist DISCO assessment. The DISCO was developed by Dr Lorna Wing and Dr Judith Gould for this centre and is a flexible, person-centred diagnostic tool recommended by the NHS.
