1982 A year of expansion – the charity’s head office moved
Focused on expanding the charity’s activities, the National Society for Autistic Children purchased a house on Willesden Lane in London.
The ground floor was to be dedicated to conferences, meetings and seminars, which the Inge Wakehurst Memorial Trust equipped, and the upstairs was allocated for administrative offices.
The hope was that they would also host events and gatherings for autistic children, teenagers and their parents as demand increased.
The move from the rented office at Golders Green Road to Willesden Lane in London happened in December 1982.
