Watling View School is a Severe Learning Disabilities (SLD) school for pupils aged 2-19 years. Our place factor is 90 children. Currently we have 27 pupils with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). These are taught in mixed ability groups in year groups and learning (ability) groups.

We have adopted a holistic approach to teaching and learning ensuring pupils with ASD have structure, clear routines and visual timetables. There is use of Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication handicapped Children (TEACCH) where appropriate. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils.
