St Luke's is a special school for pupils with moderate learning difficulties (MLD) of secondary age. Throughout the school there are many pupils that have an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) diagnosis. Currently they are supported in lessons by our skilled teaching staff and teaching assistants.
As of September 2010 the groupings will be reorganised to include two groups of pupils that will be working in a conventional secondary style, a group of pupils that will be called the Integrated Skills Group who will be following a topic based curriculum for some subjects and a Nurture Group who will follow a topic based curriculum in most subjects. The Integrated Skills Group and the Nurture Group will be vertically grouped.
