Please see below for some important things to note about the day and how it will run:
- Firstly, this is the first time the National Autistic Society will be running a virtual AGM and, as such, it’s possible that there could be some unexpected delays or technical issues that we need to address during the live event. We apologise in advance for any delays that may occur and would like to thank you for your patience.
- As you may have seen, we offered delegates the opportunity to submit a question before the event. If you did this, these questions have been allocated to internal staff members at the National Autistic Society and you will receive a written response. There’s no need to ask your question again on the live feed. To reiterate, you will receive a written response to your question.
- During the event, you will see a live question and answer feed to the right hand side of your screen, where you’re welcome to submit questions. Event producers will be collating these during the event and any questions that are repeated or of a similar theme will be combined into one question. A member of the event team will read out the collated questions during the question and answer session at the end of event. Just to advise, we will answering all questions submitted throughout the event at the end.
- Please be advised that we will be allowing approximately 25 minutes for questions at the end of the event. In the event that we are unable to answer all submitted questions, we will draft a written response and publish these on our website after the event. Similarly, it could be possible that our speaking panel is not best placed to answer some of the questions that are received. If this is the case, questions will be allocated to appropriate members of the staff team at the National Autistic Society for a response after the event.
- As this is a virtual event, approval of last year’s minutes and ratification of trustees will not be considered via a show of hands. You should have received a webform to approve the minutes of our most recent meeting and to ratify the appointment of two new trustees in correspondence we sent you in the lead up to the event. A member of the event team will also share these forms in the live feed during the event.

Q. The speaker cannot hear me?
We are using a platform called Microsoft Teams Live Events to host our Annual General Meeting. However, there will be an online chat function where you can type any questions you might have.
Q. I have a question but I am unable to type this into the question and answer feed.
We apologise that you have been unable to use the question and answer feed. Please feel free to email your question to membership@nas.org.uk and we will allocate this to a member of staff to answer in the weeks following the event.
Q. Is there anybody I can contact for support on the day?
