Our New Mill Court autism resource centre in Swansea is a newly developed day service where adults with autism are given the opportunity to learn new skills, develop their interests and try new experiences.

Leisure and learning activities

Our activities are designed to help and encourage autistic people to develop life skills, make decisions and gain the confidence to become more independent.

New Mill Court autism resource centre will incorporate Agored Cymru units and strategies including the NAS SPELL framework and TEACCH, as well as PECS and Signalong. These approaches provide essential structure and a means of clear communication designed to support autistic people.

We offer tailored individual support where adults are able to participate in enjoyable activities in a secure, positive and stimulating environment.

Person-centred approach

We work closely with each person to help them create their own support plan and put it into practice, giving them every opportunity to develop and thrive.

Communication can be difficult for people with autism, so we use a variety of communication methods, including spoken language, sign language and visual strategies. This helps us to communicate clearly with each person and ensures we hear and understand their views.

We also make sure that we involve family, carers and friends in the planning process.

New Mill Court, located within Swansea Enterprise Park, can be accessed by taxi and the provision of a day services vehicle.
