BAFTA winner David Bradley (Billy Casper) of Kez fame to visit the school

David who played Billy Casper in the critically acclaimed 1970, Ken Loach, film Kez, is coming to talk to the pupils who have been studying the Barry Hines book A Knave for a Kestral (which the film is based on) as well as watching the film. Apart from talking to the pupils David will also be watching the film with them.

Kez was filmed just 6 miles away from the school in and around Cudworth, which adds extra interest.  The film was critically acclaimed with David getting a BAFTA for Most Promising Newcomer to Leading Film Roles, along with Colin Welland who received the award for Best Supporting Actor. The film had three other BAFTA nominations. It also went to win other awards in the USA. Colin later went on to write the screenplay for the Oscar winning Chariots of Fire as well as receiving an Oscar himself.

The school would like to thank Teaching Assistant Andy Walton for arranging the visit.
