School supports English Heritage in making Conisbrough Castle more autism friendly.

The school has been contacted by English Heritage to provide advice on how to make the Conisbrough Castle, which is only seven miles away from the school, more autism friendly.  The castle built in the late 12th century, survived the English Civil war and inspired Sir Walter Scott who used the castle in his famous novel Ivanhoe.

Two our staff Speech and Language Therapist – Ruth Burtonwood and Teacher Catherine Scallon visited the castle and provided advice on how to make it more autism friendly.  Further visits from our staff will be arranged to provide support on making this historic monument autism friendly.
