Having started his teaching career at Gravesend Grammar School for Boys as a Computing and ICT teacher, Simon progressed to be a Head of Department at The Selective School. He was selected to become the Assistant Principal and subsequently Deputy Principal at the prestigious BRIT School in South London, where he was tasked with expanding student numbers by introducing a technical vocational route into the creative industries. Following this, he supported the opening of a new University Technology College in West London in conjunction with the media giants, Global, becoming the inaugural Principal. Simon spent some time in international independent school acquisitions travelling extensively in Central Asia assessing the quality of education as part of the companies due diligence process.
He is an expert school leader and took on the role of Principal at Helen Allison in July 2019, quickly supporting the transformation of its safeguarding and developing new curriculum and assessment for its children. On joining Helen Allison School he stated, “It is my honour and privilege to work at a school such as Helen Allison. Having managed very large schools, it’s great to be able to have knowledge and interaction with each and every child in the school. They are truly inspirational and each pupil teaches me as much as we teach them.”
