knitted trummy characters

You can join Bluey, Custard, Minty, Pinky, Purple and Rusty in increasing public understanding of autism, by creating your own Trummies. The Trummies feature in our learning resources for schools, which help students (or your kids at home, if you’re home schooling at the moment) to learn that we’re all the same in some ways, and different in others.

National Autistic Society volunteer, Kelly Anne Barret, has created this fantastic crochet pattern so you can crochet your own set of Trummies. We hope this keeps you busy at home, if you’re a keen crocheter or looking for a project if you’re up for the challenge! If you are newer to crochet, it might be worth watching a few YouTube videos to learn the basic techniques, first.

Huge thanks to Kelly for creating the pattern and taking the photos of her work in progress. Share your creations when they’re finished on your social media channels using the hashtag #AutismAwarenessWeek.
