You voted in your thousands and the winners of our Christmas card design competition have been identified!

Over 3,000 of you voted for your winners; we are so thrilled that so many of you wanted to show your support for our autistic designers in this way. All the shortlisted designs were amazing so well done to every designer.

Christmas card design- drawing of three reindeer

The children’s competition winner is Dacian with ‘Christmas Reindeer’. Dacian goes to school at Sybil Elgar School in West London, and is non verbal. His teacher, Beata, told us: When I was working with him on his design, we were looking at different Christmas cards and I asked him to choose what he likes. Dacian really likes reindeer so it was his inspiration for his design.

His mum said:

I know the Christmas holiday season is Dacian’s favourite time of year which I think inspired his art. He especially loves animals and has been to feed real reindeer several times. He truly is a wonderful and happy soul and I think that came across in his design!

Melanie-Rose is our adult winner, with her beautiful rendition of ‘Christmas Joy’. She told us:

I was happy about the Christmas spirit, and this led me to make something spectacular.

Our President, Jane Asher, who selected the shortlist for both categories, told us: “This year, as always, I had such fun – and huge difficulty – choosing a shortlist of Christmas Card designs from all the wonderful entries, and very proud of all that talent out there in the autistic community. I’m thrilled with the winning pictures and have no doubt that the finished cards will be extremely popular.”

Cards will go on sale in mid-August. Please keep a lookout on our social media channels and the shop on our website for more news.

Huge thanks to all the entrants and congratulations again to our finalists and especially to Melanie-Rose and Dacian!
