Yesterday morning (9 October), The National Autistic Society's Tom Purser, appeared on ITV’s This Morning along with their guests, Gayna Pealling and Daniel Ball.

Gayna was travelling on a train with her autistic son, Jack, and his sister Amy, when her son began having a meltdown. Instead of ignoring the situation, Daniel, 21, started distracting and playing with Jack, eventually calming him down.

Daniel has denied being a hero, claiming: "You just do what you can to help". Shortly after the incident, Gayna posted a photograph on Facebook showing Daniel’s intervention, describing him as 'my hero' which then went viral.

This Morning then held a ‘Question and Answer’ segment with Tom from our charity, where viewers contacted the show with their questions. You can watch the episode here.

Gayna and Daniel are on the sofa during the first segment and Tom Purser answers viewers questions 48 minutes in.

Daniel’s behaviour demonstrated so much of what we’re trying to achieve with our Too Much Information campaign to increase public understanding and empathy so we’re really thrilled that he has set up a Just Giving page to support the charity.
