NAS Plymouth Adult Asperger's Branch
The National Autistic Society
Type of service: Local groups, Social groups
NAS Plymouth Adult Asperger's Branch (NAS PAAB) offers support to adults with Asperger syndrome and high functioning autism. They provide weekly support meetings, as well as time and space for people to chat. This enables positive social interaction where individuals can achieve a sense of identity. We arrange social events such as walks, barbeques, cinema outings and quiz evenings periodically throughout the year. We also offer information, support and signposting to other services where possible. Please note that this branch is run by volunteers and, due to personal commitments, there may be a delay in them answering your enquiry..
As well as offering support to autistic adults, we also offer a separate support group for parents called Plymouth Parent Support Group. We are a community autism support group, run by parents, for parents and currently supported by the National Autistic Society to help us get started. Our aim is to unite parents of children with autism in Plymouth and the surrounding areas, to inform, signpost and empower them. We share ideas, strategies and experiences, in a safe, private environment free of judgement or criticism. All parents, carers and families of children, young people and adults with autism are welcome. .
