The school's Key Stage 1-Key Stage 3 (KS1-KS3) departments at Meopham provide education for students mainly aged 5-14 years. Students are divided into small groups with a class teacher and support staff. There are 7 classrooms, each with a main work area, 1:1 work room, and domestic area, each classroom opens onto a small play area. The school has a hall, dining room and kitchen, together with specialist classrooms for music, art, design technology, library and therapy rooms. In the grounds of the school there is a play area, garden and conservation area. The village of Meopham is semi-rural with easy access to more rural areas, main line train station and main roads. The school has a therapy department consisting of Speech and Language therapists, Occupational Therapist, assistants as well as a Psychology team. The school's KS4 and KS5 department is based in Longfield and is called the 'Hub'. All students at the Hub follow programmes and examination courses that support their transition into adult life. Emphasis is placed on work experience, life skills and decision making. The schools residences are in Gravesend which has easy access to a wide range of shops, public amenities and public transport. The residences have a high staff ratio and offer a range of activities appropriate to the curriculum. Flexible respite facilities are provided in the evening, during half term, weekends and holidays. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils and enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check would be required. The school uses the Structure, Positive (approaches and expectations), Empathy, Low arousal, Links (SPELL) framework. The school also provides flexi-boarding.
