Choice Support is a national charity working across 8 London boroughs and 11 counties. Its aim is to 'get people a life'. It provides a range of services to people with learning disabilities including small registered care homes; supported living schemes; outreach and floating support; shared lives; employment and specialist day activities. It provides individual support to people with autism spectrum needs, those with needs related to Asperger syndrome and for individuals whose behaviours may challenge. Choice Support has a positive behavioural support team charged with developing bespoke services for individuals with autistic spectrum support needs, both new services and developing existing service. The team is trained in carrying out functional assessments based on the principles positive behaviour having been training by the Institute of applied behaviour analysis (ABA). The team carries out individualised staff training, based on best practice. Choice support specialises in working with families to design person-centred support, including liaising with partner housing providers, aimed at putting the person in control. Volunteers may be accepted to work with service users.
