The key points about The Foreland School are: The children: Children between the ages of 2 and 19 can be placed at The Foreland School. Children placed at The Foreland School have profound, multiple, severe or complex learning difficulties. Many of our pupils also have autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or have medical disabilities, physical disabilities and / or sensory impairments. The staff: Teachers and teaching assistants work closely with therapists, school nurses, specialist teachers and a range of other professionals, including social workers, in order to meet the needs of the whole child. Parents: We work in close partnership with parents. You can arrange to visit the school at any time if you would like to see what we have to offer. There is a very informal atmosphere at the school; and you will always receive a friendly welcome. We can arrange for you to meet parents of children already at the school if you would like to hear their opinions. There is a Parent and Carer Support Group that meets in the school on the first and third Wednesday morning of each month. There is an active Parent/Teacher Association called The Friends of Foreland School (F.O.F.S.) who organise fundraising and social activities.
