The Riverside Campus (formerly Glasgow College of Nautical Studies) offers the Transitions course for young people aged 16 to 24 years, with Asperger syndrome. It is a one year course but can be extended to two. The aim of the course is to help students understand how they can learn and make progress, and to apply these techniques to a particular topic. Induction training will vary according to needs, and students will receive instruction on learning techniques and strategies for progressing. The main content will vary but may include Film and Media, Citizenship, Work Preparation, Horticulture, Communications, Art, Modern Studies and Maths. The College also offer a number of supported learning programmes for students with moderate/severe learning difficulties. There are Educational Support Programmes within a Further Education (FE) college. There is a Transitions Programme for students with Asperger syndrome at National 3 or above. There is a Development Programme for students with Additional Support Needs at National 1-3. There is a Project Search for students with autism.
