The teachers' awareness pack has been compiled to provide schools with information, resources and sources of help for supporting children and young people with autism. It includes information about autism and strategies for supporting children and young people with autism.

Latest news:

New guidance has been launched by the Disability Rights Commission (DRC) for the forthcoming Disability Equality Duty (DED). The DRC guide, Schools education and the Disability Equality Duty, is now available on its dedicated DED website, Disability Equality Duty.

If you would like more information about classroom strategies and good practice in Scottish schools, visit The National Priorities in Education website. The site offers support to schools and education authorities taking forward the implementation of the five national priorities: achievement and attainment; framework for learning; inclusion and equality; values and citizenship; and learning for life (as approved by the Scottish Parliament in December 2000).
