Students, staff and guests met HRH The Countess of Wessex for the official opening of the school.

Our guests included: Sarah-Jane Hacker, Mayor of Reading; Helen Roberts, Chair of Governors; Felicity Chadwick-Histed, NAS Trustee; Ashraf Merchant, Head of Education, Fujitsu and Jean Wilson, AXCIS Director.

The Countess toured the school, visiting the classes and chatting with the students. Students were able to show off their work especially in the new Fujitsu innovation hub and in the recently renovated Design and Technology workshop.

A plaque was unveiled by the Countess and we had speeches by our Principal Gary Simm and The Countess. The students had a lovely time, as shown by all the hugs goodbye they gave to The Countess!

What a lovely special day for all.
