Safer Internet Day

7 February 2017 is Safer Internet Day, a day that is very important to our school and pupils. Safer Internet Day is coordinated by the Insafe network and is celebrated every year across Europe, and in other countries worldwide.

The day is a fantastic opportunity to have a conversation with children about using the internet safely, responsibly and positively. Whether you are a parent, grandparent, carer, aunt, uncle or older sibling, we can all play a role in empowering children to enjoy their time online in a safe way. At Church Lawton School we are keen to ensure our pupils are using the internet safety and so we have added some ‘Safer Internet Day 2017’ resources for parents to our school policies and procedures page under the heading ‘Internet Safety’ to help you talk to your child about responsibilities and boundaries when using the internet.

In the UK, Safer Internet Day is organised by the UK Safer Internet Centre, and this year’s theme is “Be the change: Unite for a better internet.”
