Sometimes autistic people may find communicating with other people and social situations more challenging than others. We provide a group for people to learn new social skills, meet new people and try new activities in a group setting.

Student social group

We arrange a social group on the first Monday of every month between 5-7pm for autistic students at New College Durham. We support them to build their social skills and confidence in higher education, meet new people and try new things in the community. The sessions are funded by the college, so members are only asked to pay for activities we access locally, such as going out for a meal.

How to access our support

Sometimes our social groups require a small payment per session to cover the costs of activities. You might be able to access certain benefits to pay for this.
