How can you celebrate Christmas when your child finds it so distressing? Christmas is a very difficult and distressing time for Connor”, says his mum Sarah.
“If he unwraps a present he is not expecting, it causes him so much anguish. It makes him feel even more misunderstood than he already feels. This fear causes him so much anxiety and distress it makes him physically ill with headaches, stomach aches and sore limbs. Can you imagine seeing your child so distressed he is physically ill? It’s so upsetting.”
There are over 150,000 children living with autism in the UK and last year we saw a rise in calls to our Autism Helpline over the Christmas period.
Your decision to donate today will help provide life-changing advice and support for families like Sarah and Connor's. Thank you.
