"The care the school takes of its pupils is outstanding."
Ofsted, 2007 (www.ofsted.gov.uk)
Radlett Lodge is a school for children with autism spectrum disorders aged between four and 16 years old. The school is subject to inspection by Ofsted and The National Care Standards Commission.
All our children have an autism spectrum disorder and at the present time most pupils have additional severe to moderate learning difficulties. A small proportion of pupils have Asperger syndrome.
Radlett Lodge School was founded by The National Autistic Society with the support of a strong parental pressure group. It opened in 1974 and can now cater for 49 children aged four to 16 years. A residential unit was opened in 1986 accommodating 14 weekly boarders. Both the school and the residential unit are approved by the Department for Education and Skills.
