This training course will give you a greater understanding of autism and increase your confidence in your ability to work effectively with autistic colleagues.

The training will help you to identify different working strategies that you can use to develop a successful working relationship with autistic colleagues. Through group exercises, you will learn more about autism as well as the relevant phrases and terminology.

Key aims

This course will enable you to:

  • have the opportunity to discuss issues relating to a colleague with an ASD
  • develop your understanding of ASDs
  • increase your confidence when working with colleagues with an ASD
  • learn how to design and implement appropriate working strategies
  • clarify the concept of reasonable adjustments and the Equality Act.

Who is the course for?

This is a half-day course and is suitable for all staff working alongside colleagues with an ASD, including union reps. Training is delivered to a group of staff at your workplace, or other appropriate local venue.

Training provided at your venue, inclusive of:

  • one trainer at your venue for a half-day session
  • training delivered to a maximum of 25 delegates (please contact us if you have larger numbers and how we can accommodate this)
  • emailed handouts provided for half-day session
  • What is autism booklet for all participants.
