When: 7-8 March 2017
Where: Harrogate International Centre, Harrogate, Yorkshire
We are delighted to invite you to this year’s Autism Professional Conference run by The National Autistic Society.
It’s been an exciting year for our charity and the wider autism community. Polling about our Too Much Information campaign showed that 16% of the population have an increased awareness of autism, the Justice for LB campaign continues to raise awareness of the challenges in making sure the NHS supports autistic people with complex needs effectively, and The National Autistic Society and Ambitious About Autism Every Teacher campaign was successful in making sure that from 2018, all trainee teachers in England will learn about autism in their initial training.
Our experts on the Editorial Board have worked hard to develop yet another outstanding programme, drawing together examples of best practice across the different sectors.
Keynote sessions given by top international and UK speakers will present an overview of the changing autism environment. Plus, our series of expert seminars will provide you with practical strategies to implement with your colleagues.
I am also excited to announce that we’ll be hosting our Autism Professionals Awards again this year. Read more about The Professionals Awards and how to nominate a colleague or your own team.
I hope that by providing this forum to share the creative and innovative work being done across the UK and worldwide, we can work together to improve delivery of services and ensure that people on the autism spectrum get to lead the lives they choose.
Carol Povey, Director of the Centre for Autism at The National Autistic Society and Chair of the Autism Professional Conference Editorial Board
