Become a licensed EarlyBird trainer

EarlyBird

Training in the licensed use of the NAS EarlyBird programme takes place at the EarlyBird Centre in Barnsley, South Yorkshire and lasts for three days. Teams of at least two professionals who wish to train as licensed users must have prior experience of working with children with autism. Experience of running workshops/training sessions is also desirable, as the three-day course equips professionals with the knowledge to deliver the NAS EarlyBird programme under licence for a three-year period but it is not a training for trainers course.

The cost of the licensed training course is £995 + VAT (as of 1 April 2011).

The programme can be fitted into school terms, allowing teams the possibility of offering three programmes per academic year. Some agencies may wish to co-operate with other disciplines or authorities, either to train a joint team, or to offer the NAS EarlyBird programme as a service to families from a wider area.

EarlyBird Plus

'Add on' training in the licensed use of the NAS EarlyBird Plus programme is available for existing EarlyBird licensed users who hold a current three-year licence and have delivered at least one full EarlyBird programme. Training is available at a cost of £550 + VAT (as of March 2008) to include all training materials and a three-year licence.

Initial training

An initial three-day training course is now available to autism experienced professionals who are not EarlyBird experienced. 

Training courses are held regularly at the EarlyBird Centre, Barnsley. The cost, which includes the initial training course and a three-year licence with support from the centre, is £995 + VAT (as of 1 April 2011).

As with the EarlyBird programme, two licensed users are required to deliver the programme, both of whom need to hold a current EarlyBird Plus licence.
