Our Information Centre provides a specialist information service for professionals working with people with autism and their families, and students and researchers studying autism.

We welcome enquiries from professionals, students, researchers, NAS and local autistic society employees and workers in disciplines including education, social care, medicine, health care, design, psychology, psychiatry, pharmacology, biochemistry, neurology, communication and many more.

What we offer

  • Enquiry service  
    A telephone and email service for professionals with any interest in, or involvement with, autism and related disorders. Direct dial number for the enquiry service is +44 (0)20 7903 3599. Messages can be left if closed or line is busy. 
  • Autism Data  
    Autism Data is the ideal research tool for anyone researching autism and Asperger syndrome. It lists over 24,000 published research papers, books, articles, videos and other materials about autism and related issues.
  • Information sheets and reading lists
    The Information Centre and Autism Helpline produce information sheets on a wide variety of topics which are regularly updated. We also provide customised reference lists in response to individual requests.
  • Library
    Our library contains books, journals and videos on autism and can be visited by appointment.
  • Email bulletins about autism research and practice
    Subscribe to our email bulletins Autism Update and Titles in Autism. Both are published six times a year and Autism Update is free to NAS members.
  • Photocopies
    Photocopy facilities are available. Within the constraints of UK copyright law we can supply photocopies of articles for an individual's research or private study. There is a charge for this facility.

Opening hours and contact details

The Information Centre is open from 10am-1pm, Mondays to Fridays for telephone enquiries and library bookings.
