help! programme: post-diagnostic support

Logo: help! programme

The help! programme offers support for parents and carers of school-age children, young people and adults who have a recent diagnosis of an autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

Research has clearly highlighted the importance of support for parents and carers of people with an ASD soon after diagnosis. The help! programme was developed to address the initial needs of all parents - no matter what the age of their child.

We also offer the help! 2 seminars for parents and carers of children and young people with ASDs who already have some basic knowledge of autism. The seminars offer practical advice on issues such as managing anger, bullying, supporting siblings and using visual supports.

help!
The aim of help! is to provide information and advice after diagnosis. The programme is for parents or carers of children aged 3+ or in full-time education, and young people or adults who have had a recent diagnosis.

help! 2
help! 2 is a series of seminars for parents and carers who have some basic knowledge of ASDs. The seminars focus on practical topics such as anger management, helping siblings, making and using visual supports, writing Social Stories, and anti-bullying tips.
