The Hayes is an independent hospital for adults with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD), able to support up to 12 people with Asperger syndrome and associated behavioural difficulties who are detainable under the Mental Health Act 1983.
Located just outside a small village on the outskirts of Bristol, we provide a safe and low secure environment, without compromising the quality of our residents' care and treatment.
A number of people referred to the Hayes have been misdiagnosed, and may have received inappropriate treatment or services which did not best meet their needs. We offer autism-specific assessment and care which is based on people's individual needs.
We also have a day centre which adults with autism from the local area - as well as our residents - can use, and our outreach and support team can assess and work with adults with autism in their own home or residential service. Meanwhile, we are developing a range of training courses for professionals.
