Animated participants on one of the Night Walks

Date: Saturday, 1 April 2017
Sponsorship target: £100 individual, £500 for team of five

Night Walks for Autism 2017 is now full at all locations. Thank you so much for your interest in taking part in the walk. If you're still keen to take part, you can join our waiting list by emailing Nightwalks@nas.org.uk, and please remember to let us know your contact details and which location you are interested in, or you can sign up to one of our other events.

Night Walks for Autism is The National Autistic Society's biggest walking event, suitable for all the family. Night Walks for Autism gives you the chance to see the city in a different light at the same time as raising funds for The National Autistic Society. We will be walking into World Autism Awareness Day on Saturday, 1 April 2017. Each of the city walks start at 9pm and have 5km, 10km and 15km routes to choose from.

The Night Walks will once again be sponsored by Clarks. By working together, we can help increase public understanding of autism and make life for autistic people and their families that bit easier.

Night Walks for Autism are for all ages but we ask that under 16s are accompanied by an adult at all times. For more information, please read our frequently asked questions or email events@nas.org.uk.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Are you doing walks in my area? We are hosting walks in Bristol, London and Manchester, and we hope to add more cities to the event next year!

Will I get a nice t-shirt? Yes we will give you a National Autistic Society T-shirt on the night of your walk.

What should I wear? We want you to be comfortable so we suggest flat comfortable shoes, breathable comfortable trousers and a top to wear with your t-shirt. Depending on the weather, you may also like to bring gloves, a hat, a scarf and waterproof gear – we don’t want you to get wet!

Will there be refreshments? Water will be available on all of the routes. Tea and coffee will be available for purchase and we recommend that you bring your own snacks in case you get peckish.

I don't know if I can walk 15km. One of the great things about Night Walks for Autism is that you can pick from walks lasting 5km, 10km or 15km, and you don’t need to decide until the night!

Where does the walk start/finish?  Each walking route starts and finishes at our reception area.
