At 2014's Great North Run, we saw the super-human Mo Farah cross the finish line at exactly one hour, making that the best British male half marathon time ever! Do you fancy taking on the same challenge as our Olympic gold medallist, and raising vital funds and awareness at the same time? Then why not join us by taking part in the world's biggest half-marathon: the Great North Run.

The hugely popular run, which starts in Newcastle and finishes in South Shields and is broadcast live on the BBC, attracts an eclectic mix of fun runners, celebrities, fundraisers and fancy dress plodders along with international athletes from around the world.

From start to finish, you'll be entertained by a wide range of musicians, all playing as hard as they can to help keep you going. As well as the pounding of feet on the streets, the cities of Newcastle, Gateshead and all places in between will move to the sound of rock, pop, brass, strings, steel and samba.
