December 2016 marks the 20th anniversary of our charity’s work in Scotland – and we have some great activities lined up to celebrate this important milestone.

Last month we started running comedy workshops to give autistic people the chance to write and perform their own material. These workshops are led by comedian and National Autistic Society Scotland supporter, Janey Godley. Janey’s husband and daughter are both autistic, so she is ideally placed to coach our budding comedians. The group has been having lots of fun and is preparing to perform at our 20th anniversary celebratory event, which will take place at Scottish Parliament.

Our charity’s President, Jane Asher, has shown her support on this milestone year by donating a delicious recipe for ginger nut biscuits. Download her recipe. We hope you will join the celebrations by baking, and enjoying, these delicious biscuits.

You could do this by yourself, in the service that you are supported by, with family and friends, or as a branch. You could even raise funds for our charity by inviting friends, family, neighbours or colleagues to enjoy a biscuit for a small donation!
