Our Autism Friendly Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire project is offering a free social skills courses for people in the area who are autistic (including Asperger syndrome) and over the age of 16.

The first course will take place in Aboyne within the next few weeks.

It is aimed at individuals who want to further develop independence and learn new skills. It begins with a module which explores what autism is and what it can mean for individuals, and continues to cover topics such as starting a conversation, eye contact and talking about interests.

Our Autism Friendly Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire project is intended to support individuals with self-management, and as such it cannot support individuals with more complex needs. If you are under-16, or would like more information on what other support is available, then let us know and we will try to help you find other support.

To register your interest please email keidra.birnie@nas.org.uk.

We will be launching further Socialeyes courses across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire in the coming weeks. If you would like to take part, but can’t attend the Aboyne course please let us know by emailing keidra.birnie@nas.org.uk.
