supporter climbs Mount Everest for autism.

Our long-time supporter Anurag Verma is currently climbing Mount Everest in the name of autism! Over the years, he has taken on some incredible challenges to support us, including summiting Mount Kilimanjaro in 2015 - and right now, he is on his way to Everest Base Camp!

Anurag is dad to four children, the youngest two of whom are autistic, and raising money and awareness for autistic people is a calling close to his heart.

The treks that Anurag has taken on are some of the most challenging on earth and the physical and mental demands are definitely not for the faint-hearted!  But Anurag has let us know in his updates that his passion for the cause keeps him going…

“Now at Dingboche at 4,400m: going is much tougher. Terrain more rugged and wind is stronger. Every step takes effort as quickly out of breath.

“Thinking about my meeting with people whose lives the NAS is changing is motivating me to keep pushing when body says it wants to stop.”

Anurag aims to raise an incredible £29,029 in sponsorship for this challenge – which is equivalent to the height of Mount Everest in feet.  If you would like to support his phenomenal efforts, you can visit his fundraising page.

And if you would like to know more about what else you can do to support us (trekking to Everest Base Camp isn’t for everyone…!) then you can find out more in the events section of our website.

Good luck, Anurag, and thank you so much!
