The Royal College of GPs (RCGP) has published a new toolkit of resources for GPs and sent out packs to all surgeries in England.
The aim of the packs is to support GPs to meet the needs of autistic patients, and to make more surgeries autism-friendly. Resources in the pack include: a guide for patients on the autism spectrum to help them get the most out of their GP visit, a guide for GPs which gives advice about consultations, and information about our training.
The packs have been put together by the RCGP’s Clinical Priority Group on autism, established in 2014 by GP Carole Buckley. Our charity plays an active role in the group and several of our resources are included in this important toolkit.
You can help spread the word by making sure that your GP has seen the full toolkit and has read our information for health professionals.
