You may not realise but increasingly companies are looking to their employees for suggestions of who to give support to. You could make a huge difference to the NAS just by putting our name forward.

Do you know how your company gives money to charity? Do you know how the decision is made? Do you know who to ask? It may be human resources, the marketing or press team - or you may have a charity committee within the company.

Key ways of company giving which you may have a say in include:

  • Charity of the year
Staff can be invited either to nominate a charity or take part in voting on a chosen shortlist of charities.
  • Community fund for local projects
The NAS delivers all our projects on a local basis, so there could be one near your workplace that would be eligible if there is a community fund that employees can apply to.
  • Volunteering hours
Many companies give employees one or two days a year to volunteer - this could be on your own or with your team.
  • Christmas cards
Often companies choose a charity to benefit from the Christmas cards they buy or from a donation instead of buying cards. Either way they may look to employees for a suggestion of which charity could benefit. You can order our Christmas cards from www.autism.org.uk/christmascards, including a bumper pack of older cards.
  • Recycling
The NAS can provide labels and Freepost envelopes to recycle most printer cartridges and all mobile phone and accessories – contact us for more details on how to take part.
