A big part of any successful campaign is having evidence to support what you are asking for.
Three of the groups involved in the first stage of the Autism Action Network surveyed their members and others in their local area to find out more about their experiences and what needed to be changed locally.
A survey isn't the only way to gather evidence, and the groups have also been involved in setting up focus groups and consultation events in their area.
If you are a member of a local autism group, and want to find out more about gathering evidence for your own campaign, have a look at our presentation about different types of research to support local campaigning.
You can also download some examples of local surveys here to give you an idea of the kind of questions you might want to ask.
