Supported by Trafigura Foundation

Our Community Care Service offers advice and information about community care issues, including finding out what help you can get from your local social services department; how to access the help; and how to make a complaint to your social services department if you are not happy with their decisions or the services they offer.

Some of the help that people affected by autism may be entitled to includes Direct Payments, day centres, respite services, or help with housing options.

To use the Community Care Service you can:

  • telephone our Autism Helpline on 0845 070 4004 (open Monday-Friday, 10am-pm.) The Helpline will take details of your query and arrange a telephone appointment for you with our community care case worker. The case worker will call you back at the agreed time to discuss your query in detail
  • email your enquiry to: communitycare@nas.org.uk You will need to tell us the name of your local authority, and give us as much information as possible about your query. We aim to respond to email enquiries within 14 working days
  • complete our short online form (below).

It is helpful to know who you are (eg, person with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD); parent or carer of a child or adult with an ASD) and what the nature of your enquiry is. For example, are there particular types of help you want to find out about?
