help! Managing Anger is a one day Family Support Seminar which provides information and advice to families of children and young people affected by Autism. The programme will support families to: discuss why children with autism often have challenges with anger; identify a low arousal approach for support through stressful situations; explore the cycle of anger and possible support strategies; examine strategies for managing feelings; provide a help! resource pack on information. Families are able to book two places for £30 and this includes a full resource pack of useful information, advice and support guidelines. help! Managing Anger is delivered by experienced and trained professionals of The National Autistic Society (NAS) Light refreshments will be provided, please bring your own lunch.

This programme, which runs for 5 sessions beginning on 20 June 2012, is for parents/carers of children and young people aged between 9 and 13 years. The programme sessions cover autism and diagnosis, building self esteem, education, managing difficult behaviour and relationships/sexuality. Please feel free to bring your own lunch if required - there is also a cafe available on site. Two members per family may attend (or one family member and a friend). help! Common Toileting Difficulties is a one day Family Support Seminar that provides information and advice to families of children with autism. The seminar is specifically aimed at those parents/carers with children up to 18 years of age who have a diagnosis of autism (including Asperger Syndrome). The seminar will support families to consider how having autism can lead to various toileting difficulties; discuss the general process of toilet training; look at difficulties that children with autism may experience regarding toileting including constipation, smearing, fear of using the toilet and the sensory issues associated with this. It also suggests tips and strategies to help minimise the problems.

Cost
help! seminars are normally £30 per family. The NAS has gained funding from The Eveson Charitable Trust and are therefore able to provide this seminar free of charge to parents.
