Prospects can help you with the recruitment, training and retention of staff with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Our employment consultants offer advice, support and training to managers and their teams.

We provide access to a largely untapped pool of skilled employees, and make it easier for you to retain good employees by providing in-house support and training to line managers and colleagues.

Our services for employers

Workplace assessments

Our specialist consultants untangle disability issues and management issues in a comprehensive review of the workplace situation of an employee with ASD. We provide a detailed written report recommending reasonable adjustments and adaptations to not only meet your statutory requirements under disability and employment legistation but to achieve best practice in workplace diversity.

Workplace support

We can offer support to you and to your employees with an ASD in the workplace. Our specialist employment consultants can work with you, your employee and the rest of your team, covering the following areas:

  • employee orientation
  • job analysis
  • help with organising the working day
  • social training/awareness - help with understanding the 'unwritten rules' of the workplace
  • disability awareness for colleagues and line managers
  • developing an effective working relationship between you and your employee(s).

Once a new employee is settled, our support will be gradually reduced. You can download a flyer about our workplace support service at the bottom of this page.

Consultancy and contract work

We offer a consultancy service to employers across the UK who are seeking expert advice about supporting an employee with an ASD. We will tailor the serivce to your organisation. We charge a fee and travel expenses.

We can also provide training for managers and HR staff in how to implement diversity policies; adapt recruitment processes for people with an ASD; and make reasonable adaptations in the workplace.

Who pays?

Some of Prospects' services are free of charge while others are fee-based. Employers can apply for a grant to help with these costs from the Access to Work scheme, which helps with the costs of supporting their employees.
