Daldorch satellite school, South Lanarkshire

Our new Care and Education Service in East Kilbride is an education centre, launched in partnership with South Lanarkshire Council to support young people with autism in the South Lanarkshire local authority area.

Daldorch House School is renowned for its innovation. Our flexible approach to delivering support that meets the individual needs of our students has allowed us to develop a service that is the first of its kind. Our South Lanarkshire education centre has been developed alongside a local authority, so that students can live and learn near the family home, go out and about in an area they are familiar with, stay with the same health service and enjoy more frequent visits from parents.

Students at our education centre benefit from the same level of specialist care and education as students at our main campus in Daldorch. We provide the same curriculum, behaviour support, speech and language therapy and full-time care for 365 days a year. Every student receives one-to-one support from our trained school staff, and we encourage all students to make the most of other educational and leisure opportunities in the local area.

The school environment is homely and spacious, but specially adapted to meet the needs of young people with autism and encourage independence - living and learning areas are carefully separated, fixtures and furnishings are autism-friendly and assistive technology is installed throughout.

We have four bedrooms, two bathroom and two shower rooms, as well as a relaxation room, open plan lounge and dining room, kitchen and large garden. Alongside our classrooms we also have a group work area and a sensory room.
