The Autism Helpline is a telephone service for people with autism and their families, including their brothers and sisters, in the UK. You can call the Helpline on 0808 800 4104 to:

  • talk about autism or Asperger syndrome
  • find out more information about autism or Asperger syndrome
  • talk about your brother and sister with autism and any of the difficulties they may experience
  • talk about yourself and your family, and any concerns or worries you might have relating to your brother's or sister's condition.

The Helpline is open from Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm.

You can call from any telephone, including mobiles. Sometimes, the lines are busy so if you can't get through at first, please keep trying.

When you call the Autism Helpline you will speak to a Helpline Assistant, who will try to put you through to a Helpline Adviser. Our advisers know a lot about autism and will be able to tell you more about it, or give you help and advice.

The Autism Helpline is a confidential service which means that usually anything you tell us will be kept private and we won't tell anyone outside the Helpline. However, there are times when we have to break confidentiality. This would be if someone tells us about something very serious that we cannot keep private, for example if we feel someone is at risk.
