Are you the father of a son with challenging behaviours?
-
Is your son aged between 5 and 12?
-
Would you be willing to share your experience?
A researcher at London's City University is looking for participants for a research project into the experiences of father's of children who display challenging behaviour. She says:
"Having worked with children and families in the past as well as being an Applied Behavioural Analysis Tutor, I am very interested in family dynamics and especially the father/son relationship, particularly when the child has challenging behaviours. I feel that much of the past research has focused on the mother/child relationship and believe that my research would be very valuable in broadening knowledge from a father's perspective.
"I am looking for fathers that have a son (aged between 5 and 12) to share their experience of raising a child with challenging behaviours.
"If you would like to find out more or would like the opportunity to tell your story and the chance to contribute to this valuable research project within the area of fatherhood and having a son with challenging behaviours, please contact Ruth Jennings on 07939 395 388 or Ruth.Jennings.1@city.ac.uk."
Participation will involve a face-to-face interview lasting between 50-90 minutes.
This research is part of a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology at London City University and has been approved by the Ethics Board at London City University. It is supervised by Dr. Deborah Rafalin, Registered Psychologist and Senior Lecturer.
