About the event
The GRIM Challenge is an 8.7 mile off-road challenge series run on the Army’s vehicle testing track in Aldershot. You can select from two extreme running or biking challenges - the GRIM or the GRIM Duathlon.
GRIM: 3, 4 December 2011
Registration fee: £25
You will run on a mixed terrain – trails, rocky paths, sand, mud, hills and through some rather large puddles – so expect to get wet! This event is a lot of fun, with people coming back year after year for more Grimness. Approximately 40% of the field are women and many in the field walk or run it so you don’t need to be super fit. Round up your mates and enter as a team or as an individual.
GRIM Duathlon: 22 October 2011
Registration fee: £35
If biking is more your thing, why not try out the GRIM Duathlon – a great event for those wanting to take their first step in to the world of off-road adventure racing? Held over similar terrain to the GRIM, the duathlon will be a 5k run / 20k mountain bike ride / 5k run. The emphasis is on fun and you won’t be able to cycle the whole way – there’s more water involved! Enter as a team of three or as an individual. So dust off that mountain bike you’ve stopped using and enter the GRIM Duathlon.
Sounds great – tell me more!
