Child and adolescent mental health is an issue which is devolved to Scotland – that means that it’s the Scottish Parliament which sets policy on it, not Westminster. Although the political parts of the You Need To Know campaign are only relevant to England, there are still plenty of ways you can get involved with the campaign in Scotland.
You could, for example, put up an awareness poster in your local GP’s surgery. If you and your family are having difficulties getting the support you need, download our parents and carers' guide and parents and carers' rights guide. If you feel that staff who may be working with your son or daughter can improve their understanding and awareness of autism, order Mental health and autism: A guide for child and adolescent mental health practitioners here.
