Join our Autism Action Network and help us campaign to improve the lives of people with autism.

The Autism Action Network is a community of people who we support to campaign and lobby locally and nationally as well as to increase public awareness of autism.

Join the network today

As a champion of the Autism Action Network, you will have a chance to develop a range of skills, receive advice and support, and find out what is happening locally and nationally that affects people with autism and their families.

The National Autistic Society supporters have already achieved a tremendous amount, from the first-ever disability-specific law in England with the Autism Act 2009 to making sure that all special educational needs (SEN) co-ordinators in schools are qualified teachers.

But there is still much more to be done. 63% of adults with autism do not have the support to meet their needs, while only 15% are in full-time paid work. Over 70% of children with autism also have a mental health problem, while half of children have to wait over a year to get the right support at school. (For further information, see Our campaigns.)

With so many changes taking place at a local and national level that directly affect people with autism, more action is needed to make sure that their needs will finally be met.

If you could help to spread autism awareness or you have experiences to share and the passion and commitment to express this, please apply today.
