Health services need to be able to recognise the needs of people with autism and how best to help when people develop physical or mental health problems.
You can find out more about our recent work below.
We are currently carrying out research into support for children with autism who have co-occurring mental health problems in preparation for a major campaign to improve child mental health services for children and young people with autism.
Our campaigning encouraged the Government to pass the Autism Act and to develop a national strategy for adults with autism.
We campaigned to ensure poeple with autism are not sectioned unfairly and unnecessarily under the Mental Health Act of 2007 and helped publicise the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
