Research Autism
is an independent, non-profit making charitable Trust committed to improving the lives of people with autism through research into therapeutic or remedial interventions.
The Trust raises funds, undertakes, supports or causes scientific research to be carried out into the effects of therapeutic or remedial interventions in autism and related conditions.
Their priority is those interventions intended to make a significant impact on the disabling effects of autism and related conditions and promote and enhance the quality of life of individuals and their families. It is part of the mission of the Trust to disseminate and publish the findings of research and to bring together leading researchers in the field.
The vision of Research Autism is a world where those on the autism spectrum are able to realise their full potential and where they and their families are able to enjoy a good quality of life. This is achieved by understanding, preventing or overcoming the disabling effects of autism and related conditions and by applying the most timely and effective therapeutic and remedial interventions.
Research Autism's website is an information hub giving comprehensive, impartial information on all interventions in autism. The site contains information about common interventions, what they are supposed to do and whether or not there is any scientific research to back up the claims made for them.
